From the top of the bell tower of the Basilica
of San Frediano you can admire one of the most beautiful views of the city and
countryside of Lucca. In the 55-meter-high bell tower is the "bell of
Santa Zita," which dates back to the 13th century.
You can enter the Campanile from the basilica, a jewel of Italian Romanesque
architecture, with the beautiful gilded mosaic on the facade, the marble
baptismal font, and the pictorial and sculptural artistic testimonies.
